Hope for Youth Uganda is a community-based organization dedicated to improving access to education, life skills, clean water, and economic opportunities for vulnerable children, youth, and families in Mukono District.
Who we are
Hope for Youth - Uganda (H4YU) is a fully registered local Ugandan NGO operating in rural communities of Nama and Kyampisi, sub-counties of Mukono district.
Base Line
We offer free basic primary education, life skills, nutrition, sports, music, vocational training and art programs for children, youth and young adults. Through our sponsors, some students are supported at tertiary institutions.
What We Do
Through practical, community-driven programs, we help break the cycle of poverty and build self-sufficient futures. We have Five thematic areas of intervention, which include:
We believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, lead, and thrive. From a humble beginning beneath the shade of two trees, where two teachers gathered with seven children to learn, Hope for Youth School has grown into a lifeline for rural communities in the Nama and Kyampisi sub-counties of Mukono District, Central Uganda.
Our youth programs equip young people with the tools, values, and vision to create lasting change in their communities. The programs provide the knowledge, mentorship, and real-world experiences young people need to thrive.
The school’s community outreach, led by H4YU graduates, engages elders with monthly presentations on nutrition, gardening, vitamins, reading clubs, and healthcare support.
The “You Matter” Girls Only program is designed to reach out to community girls and young mothers from a variety of backgrounds, focused on changing their lives for the better.
At Hope for Youth, we are building a self-sufficient future. Through poultry, piggery, goat rearing, and crop cultivation, we generate resources to support our programs, feed students and staff, and reduce operational costs. Our growing initiatives, include a bakery, still under construction that aims to provide employment opportunities for graduating students, equipping them with practical skills for independent living and also generate income for the organization through the sale of the baked goods to surrounding community.
